Colorado RUN FOR THE FALLEN to Honor and Remember Colorado Service Members Who Died as a Result of Serving During the Global War on Terror
Fort Carson, CO – In its first annual event for Colorado Chapter are partnering with Honor and Remember Inc. in a special tribute of gratitude and honor for the men and women who have died in military service to America during the Global War on Terror and to Colorado’s Fallen First Responders who died protecting and serving our community.
A Tribute Team of runners, core relay team and support crew, comprised of Active Duty, Reservists, Retired Veterans, First Responders, Gold Star Family Members and Patriotic Americans will embark on a 2-day journey from Fort Carson Colorado to Fort Logan National Cemetery. We will be stopping at each Hero Marker, approximate 1-mile intervals to Honor and Remember individually Colorado’s Fallen Heroes. Calling out each Hero by name and to paying tribute to their waiting Family and Friends of the Fallen.
Colorado Run for the Fallen will kick off Saturday morning at 0700 at the Mountain Post Global War on Terrorism Fallen Soldier’s Memorial with a short start ceremony and begin the 2-day multi county journey to Fort Logan National Cemetery. Run Stop Point and End of Day Ceremony for Day 1 Saturday 14 September will be Fire Station 152 in Castle Rock, CO (corner of Crystal Valley Parkway and Plum Creek). Day 2 we will begin at Fire Station 152 and conclude in the late afternoon with our Closing Ceremonies at Fort Logan National Cemetery 4400 Kenyon Avenue, Denver, CO 80236 (time to be announced)
